The Children of Ayacucho FundThe Children of Ayacucho Fund was established with The Resource Foundation to build schools, dormitories, and orphanages for impoverished The Ayacucho province was devastated by violence and destruction caused by the Shining Path (Sendero Luminoso), which was active in the 80's and 90's in Peru. Many innocent children and citizens were caught in the wave of destruction, and the region still has not recovered. The Children of Ayacucho Initiative was created to respond to this great need. Led by Father Antonio, a Catholic priest, this vital initiative is fostering change by reaching out to the poorest and most affected members of his community with a message of hope and reconstruction. He is leading the Children of Ayacucho initiative, which has been documented in Oprah's Angel Network. To date, a dining hall has been constructed and the construction of an arts and crafts workshop is underway. Click here to follow our fund our Facebook.
